Song Parodies -> "I Sawed Her Antique Chair"

Original Song Title:

"I Saw Her Standing There"

Original Performer:

Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"I Sawed Her Antique Chair"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

The style in question is actually called Louis Quatorze, but that would have presented a rhyming problem.
I Sawed Her Antique Chair

One two-by-four

The century: seventeenth.
Style: Louis XIVth.
There I placed my foot to hold the board on square.
When I moved my hand, I discovered (oops!)
That I sawed her antique chair.

Well it looked to me as if wood putty
Could fill that long gash to the seat cover.
She'd look askance and be bothered (ow!)
That I sawed her antique chair.

I started to move
Caulk into the groove,
But my hand weld cracked the pine.

I put a clamp on right,
And it held the pieces tight.
Some old floor stain I found matched the chair's color.
There's a chance she won't discover (no!)
That I sawed her antique chair.

I started to move
Caulk into the groove
By my hand weld cracked the pine.

I put a clamp on right
And it held the pieces tight.
Some old floor stain I found matched the chair color
There's a chance she won't discover (hope!)
That I sawed her antique chair.

What a cop-out! 'Blue cheese fat floors'... 'Groupies' bat tours'... ' Louise's cat soars'... all of these would have been very easy to work in as rhymes to Louis Quatorze.

Thanks, everyone else. This is not autobiographical--not yet, anyway.
