The Lyrics
I read the news today and boiled
About a gov'nor man who'd just been paid
By guys to implements their plans.
Again, he's taking graft
But wasn't photographed.
He drives a Hummer, not a car;
He hasn't noticed that gas prices changed.
Now loud crowds of folks come to where
He does appear before
Those who hoard their cash and use it pay him
And then keep score.
I've seen his films, pre-governor.
He wasn't bad as a comic actor.
Now crowds of voters turn away--
They've had a second look. . .
Seen he juggles books.
I'd love to turn him out.
Woke up, newspapers read,
Dragged down by what stories said.
How'd this clown get there, from a made-up
World where out pump fantasies by the spate?
Keeps a tote bag for some cash,
But most of it's cached and stashed.
Illegal Cuban cigars he tokes,
But most of his smoke comes out in the form of screens.
I read the news today and boiled:
Four billion overrun on Bay Bridge scheme.
He holds up funds and work stalls; oh,
Meanwhile, traffic crawls, slow
How many holes does this guy have in his head,
Or 's it hollow?
I'd love to turn him out.
