Song Parodies -> "Palilalia"

Original Song Title:

"Polythene Pam"

Original Performer:

Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Palilalia"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

Well, do you scream palilalia?
Might seem to look a bit like echolalia.
Well is it kind of a drag. . . .
might give you a Tourettes tag,
although it ain’t as bad as coprolalia
(and you ain’t crazy, brayin’ glossolalia).
No, no, no……………………………………………

Got a dos o más* way with your voice lilt—
it’s repetition that you do to the hilt.
At least two times lips curl;
makes you seem like a churl.
It must be something in how your brain is built.
Yeah, yeah, yeah………………………………………………

Just had to make me work to pronounce the words in parody correctly didn't you? For a moment there I thought you were referring to an obscure pronunciation/spelling of a tasty Spanish dish.

Now, I was thinking just that over breakfast. I'd always suspected that palolalia and auto-echolalia were one and the same. Mean Mr Mustard and I thank you for the confirmation - it's quite a load off. Thanks for the link; without that I would have been catatonic. What lexical labyrinths will you lead us into next? f-fiv-v-s-s
