Parody Song Title:

"Paper Sans Writing"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

Paper sans writing, paper sans writing.
Clearly it’s mammoth, but a closer look
shows paper that’s pure white; it’s not like a book
nonfiction or novel in which it is clear
that a printer’s dots
on pages appear. Here’s paper sans writing,
paper sans writing.

It’s a worthless story from a pure-jest “plan”;
steaming paper pile is the latest scam.
Numbers- and wordless like a canvas sail,
it’s a big con job
because what we see is paper sans writing,
paper sans writing.

There’s thousands of pages, but a closer view
shows whiteness that’s pure; there’s no inking hue.
It’s arrayed to con us; it’s a giant pile
that weighs many pounds…
words- and numbers-free,
just paper sans writing,
paper sans writing.

It’s completely white and it would reflect light,
but cased in manila, it is out of sight.
Nothing on the folders, of labels they’re clear.
It’s completely fake,
more mendacity, this paper sans writing,
paper sans writing.

Paper sans writing, paper sans writing….

Sounds like an empty diary or jourrnal I picked up at the dollar store. I stare at it and imagine it filled with my "Great American Novel", but I know that realistically it will probably remain blank forever.
