The Lyrics

Hunkered in the basement…
nix, so far, on medicine.
Hard to make payments,
can’t go to the bankin’ gents.
Got a touch o’ trench mouth,
but there’s no cough.
So every day I scoff
at the DC pig trough.
I stay hid,
don’t wanna get COVID.
Just see friends
on Zoom—ain’t willin’ to spend
for the pro version; I will not pay;
on the free I depend.
I take my supplement caps, I bathe and then
take another kind of pill for which I’ve a yen.

Fungus on left foot,
but the point is moot.
Can’t see the doc—nuts!
Just sit on my butt.
My phone works…’ least today…
hope Verizon’s here to stay
and service don’t got away.
It’s time for Scrabble play.
Stayin’ hid;
hope I don’t flip my lid.
Real fast it goes…
not up my nose.
Just as well, the smoke might dose
my lungs and bronchioles;
I won’t control
the air I hold
before I expel it, an’
I make a gust of wind bold.

I ain’t sick, still well,
as far as I can tell.
If I loudly yell,
no one can hear me—this is hell!
So scarred and marred
will be thoughts frail.
This is like jail…
watch again The Holy Grail,
a great vid,
no CO- hooked to it.
Then, boozing, eating…
sweat ain’t oozing!
Kids are still cheating
even when home-schooled—
parents are getting fooled.
At ad hoc teaching,
they’re taking a beating.

Nerves worn, watch porn:
askance “romance” minus pants.
House messed, I’m dressed
in vests that are not pressed.
Knees hurt, need gin for lift
Could steal and grift
with phone-number spoofing,
and some putzes would be way stiffed.

In here hid,
but still on the grid.
Hope the servers can handle
traffic that expands still.
Might need candles—
on PGE, demand’s full.
Don’t know what is to come—
try not to get bummed.
Stay drunk, shirk work
Ain’t got hands full; boss commands, null.

LOL Funny!!! I went to buy groceries this morning, and the aisles were all marked with one-way arrows. Every single aisle had the arrow pointing in the direction opposite my usual direction, so I took the long way around. Then every aisle with a customer in it had the customer going in the wrong direction, so I had to back up and wait till the idiot cleared the aisle before proceeding.

Great job! Dylan ought to hear this one, maybe even (gasp!) write new music..who knows? I'm the author of "This is Life (With Covid-19)," a song parody for March 23, 2020.

And you can't leave the house to re-create the video, either.
