No savant - a dilettante,
I work but not too hard.

Me? Cheery as can be,
Often to excess.

Just a slacking hacking writer,
I have tried but it's no use.

You excel in modesty. You should be proud of your humility. Few could have done it so well. You deserve to brag. Some will say it's the fault of the education system, but I have read a lot more of your material than I have of Milton or Donne. And I like it a lot better.
