Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

No rain's drippin' off the brim of their hats
Same forecast everyday
Old timers hope a dust bowl..like "Thirty-Six"
Will not soon be headed their way

Wilted are wild flowers..bloomin' on the plains
The grass is brown and dead
Lubbock had a dust storm just last week
Turnin' skies to black and red

Is anything still growin' in San Antone
There's been an awful drought there
The wind and dust keep blowin' thru San Antone
Don't think I'll be goin' out there

Winds rollin' tumbleweeds 'cross dry roads
Wicked weather just goes on
Folks prayin' nightly..they'll soon have rain
So cattle can feed on the loam

Irrigation water sprayin' cotton plants
But for bounty crops..there is doubt
The farmers and the ranchers been fightin' back
Wet Tequila's helpin' out

Is anything still growin' in San Antone
There's such an awful drought there
The wind and dust keep blowin' thru San Antone
Don't think I'll be goin' out there

The wind and dust are blowin' in San Antone
I don't think I'm goin' out there

IDNKTOS, so won't vote, but I do catch the sad sentiment in the song. A daughter, son-in-law and grandson live in Austin and have suffered through the extended dry spell. Re pacing, you put an extra syllable in the title line.

Yeah, I be San Antone is a pretty dry place....and hot. We had a drought in Florida the last time we went also and had to salvage as much water we had in bottles. But in spite of the situation you described in your satire, that didn't stop me from enjoying the sounds of the South. And speaking of the South, I can't wait to travel down there next month in December. Love to enjoy my X-Mas there. Hope 555 gallons of water can hold the drought.
