Parody Song Title:

"Hepatitis"

Parody Written by:

Claude Prez

The Lyrics

Hacked up a glob of his dinner
Then he felt fatigued but did not complain
And he never thought he'd go to see the doctor
Till he had acute abdominal pain

Big deal, he got a virus
Ow, man it's hepatitis
And he is
swollen................
swollen................
swollen in the liver

Wonder how he got infected
Perhaps he did not practice all the proper hygiene
But he just found out that you are not protected
Till you get a shot of a potent vaccine

Big deal, he got a virus
Ow, man it's hepatitis
And he is
swollen................
swollen................
swollen in the liver

If you are proud of your liver
Hope you gonna find a clean way to live
Threatenin diseases; man there sure are plenty
And people all around are happy to give

You really don't want no virus
Man, don't get hepatitis
You'll be
swollen................
swollen................
swollen in the liver

Interesting

Yeah - sick, but interesting. "Swollen... in the liver" is pretty sharp for the "Rollin'... on down the river" chorus

Thanks for the comments. You know, in retrospect, life-threatening diseases may not be the mirthful bonanza I thought it was. Perhaps I'll hold off on my Neil Sedaka "Oooooh I Got Cancer In The Brain" parody for now.

I think it was hillarious, but of course not very , um...kind

Wow. Thanks Billy. I kinda thought you'd never comment positively on my stuff again after I was such a jerk to you last week (you probably don't even remember). Anyway, thank you.

Liked "Threatenin" what a word! And it sort of goes along with the bizarre way Fogerty sings. Whenever you can keep an original line from the song, but have it mean something different, it's better than rewriting. (People happy to give) There was a famous cartoonist that drew a picture of Winston Churchill or somebody with seven lines on the paper. A reporter asked if charging $5000 dollars was a lot for seven lines. He replied, "If I could have done it in five I would have charged twice as much." Don't remember the artist, but I know you "get it".
