The Lyrics

It’s ore that they’d score, but they had more
Than they’d every exported before.
They bore it o’er to Cleveland’s shore
On the ore ship Fitzter Ed.

The weather was sore; the rain did pour;
Fitz couldn’t make port ’cause the wind did roar.
This wouldn’t be a steady course,
Not for Fitzter Ed.

The wind yakkety-yakked in wires in a tattletale way,
And Fitzter Ed’s captain would speak, but stopped just short of Whitefish Bay.

No more ’d his voice soar—ore boat on floor
Of the big gorge that’s named Superior.
The search turned into a fruitless chore.

The ship called the Fitz. . .
Lies on Gitche’s bed.

JAB - Gee, Wilbur. If you stay with Livingston and Evans, you can use "Silver Bells", "Buttons And Bows", "Mona Lisa", "Bonanza", and many others. ;D

Thanks, AFW; have tackled some of those, OMR, but thanks for the suggestion.

Well rhymed. One of my local stations is showing reruns of Mr Ed at 5 in the morning. Edmund Fitz, to infinity and beyond!
