If it is a rewrite, I didn't see the original. Pacing was *obviously* perfect, and like mac said, your opening lines got you an immediate 5 on How Funny. Great stuff here - I've never had excessive alcohol before, but your parody in particular has given me insight. I'm looking forward to the delusional, gender-switching wonderland that is drunkenness.
The part about Saddam got me, and the part about Steven Tyler finished me off. I'm still LOL.

I have to echo Phil and Jango's admiration of the whole 'Liv/'Dream On'/Steven' idea -- really, really nice. But Phil, have you been livin' in a cave, dude? Even an old celeb-ignorant guy like me knows about Liv and her dad! :-)
I think I could probably get a doctorate in "Celebignorance", Leo - I really, truly, do not give a proverbial flying f... for celebrity for celebrity's sake. I thought Liv made a beautiful elf, and love a lot of her old man's music... but I'll probably have forgotten that she's his kid by the time the subject comes up again. It's why I never do well in pub quizzes - they seem to think this sort of thing is important.

Hey thanks for the comments all; sorry it took me so long to reply but I left for vacation the day after this appeared and just got back today. Been catching up on some of the great stuff I missed; wish I could read and comment on them all but you know how it is. Thanks again and thanks also to anyone who commented on the first version of this; I think I dropped the ball there too.

Heh heh. It's fun comparing the two versions. What I miss from your first write: The title, the postscript, and "Reject from 'Swan.'" But I like your edits, especially throwing Saddam and "Dream On" in there. And "beertiful" is a great addition to the lexicon.
In both, of course, I like your sub for "Gee whiz" and the whole concept. I saw the Everly Brothers do "Dream" the other night, and having your version in my head pretty much ruined the experience for me.

So this is where Beertiful came from. Spaff used it to describe one of my songs and gave you proper credit. I love a good, beertiful song! Warms the heart!
