Song Parodies -> "Where Are The Towns"

Original Song Title:

"Send In The Clowns"

Original Performer:

Frank Sinatra

Parody Song Title:

"Where Are The Towns"

Parody Written by:

Airfarcewon

The Lyrics

Mud and debri,
Splinters of wood
Washed up and piled all around
In each neighborhood..
Where are the towns?

Homes that once were
Houses with soul
Gone, only foundations stand
Gulf waves still roll..
(But) Where are the towns?
Where are the towns?

Ike made his strike
With hurricane spin
Tho' most would evacuate safe
Some braved the wind
Soon to regret that they had
If survival was theirs..
Saddened of eyes,
Lost empty stares..

Why must it be,
When will God spare
Life, from the mercy of nature,
So ravaged there?
Now, where are the towns?
What used to be towns,
Is just sand and air

What used to be towns,
Is now...sand...and...air

captured the sad tone of the OS quite well

A less obvious variation on this melancholy hit. Works well and quite appropriate.

Sir L'Air de Farce, let's just say that Parody is only a recent discovery for me; and since I don't own a computer, I'm relegated to use the one at my job . . . so my efforts must be quick & to the point, Sir . . . . usually I'm on the phones to theOrient searching for parts; so I'm < ON HOLD > a lot ! ! Boring . . . .So my boss allows me this one luxury, and the right to wear fishNets on Fridays ! He' s a cool guy; I got him wearin' Cowboy boots, under his 501's(so tight, they be). I also have a bet going with him: Who will be the first to wear ~daChaps~ to work ? ? ?

Oh, yes...he was with the Limeliters..before he went solo...recall that..used to ear that group a lot back in the six owes..sounds like you have a great and interesting occup.. fishnets on fridays, eh?..:) funny line...you have a good offbeat sense of humor..I like that..I usually find when it comes to humor..most ladies and girls would rather receive than give...Chaps could prove to be a little chafing astride a desk chair, rather than a hoss...What kind of parts do you search for, auto, electronic, or human?

Sir, L'Air, I love to laugh . . . so whether it be to receive or give, is of no matter to me, Sir. It's almost time for me to depart this old job o'mine! You see Sir , in theOrient they arrive at work around 4Pm NorCAL time. Oh, I seek computer hardware parts . Been difficult this Summer after the Quake. tally ho !

You're welcome AFW. There's more where that came from. This parody was very close to home for me. I really identify with it.
