Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Away down south they have a name
for slow response from Fema
We can't repeat the words they used,
But, They Called The Wind, Katrina

Katrina packed a mighty force
And sent the seas a-flyin'
Katrina cut a savage course
Left many folks a-dyin'

Katrina, (Katrina)
Katrina, (Katrina)
They Called The Wind Katrina

In early fall, Katrina came
They heard her wail and roarin'
Flood waters surged across the Gulf
From the levees it was pourin'

Now, though it's been three months or more
Their misery's not ending
So high the cost, some still are lost
With Fema's aid yet pending

Katrina, (Katrina)
Katrina, ( Katrina)
They Called The Wind Katrina

We sacrifice in far off lands
Democracies they're carvin'
As they crusade around the world,
Our own are homeless, starvin'
This country needs a better plan
Denying rich and greedy
There ought to be priority
To help our poor and needy

Katrina, (Katrina)
They Called the Wind Katrina
Katrina!
Katrina, (Katrina)
They Called the Wind Katrina

tastefully done

I don't know who did the original, but I saw Ed Ames do a great version of it on a PBS-shown "Ed Sullivan" rerun. Handing down a five-count indictment against Bush and "Brownie."

Very good parody, AFW, but I think there are similar names for state and municipal governments.

To true to be funny but l thought pacing was good and satire biting would give it thumbs up and hope somebody has the guts to record it. For some reason l always think of Robert (Bob) Goulet when l think of this song.
