The Lyrics

I saw a film, just the other day,
skewed to the left, but I thought I should say
there were lies to tell, and turd to spread,
I really heard what Old michael said,
and he would talk the whole way through it
and half way through, I thought boy, it's leftist stew, yeah,
a propaganda leftie stew..

and the crap's in the ladle,
for the leftie spoon,
can we send them packing way up to the moon,
when we gonna teach them , son I don't know, when
the world will be all right then, you know it'll be right then

in columbine, he had a point,
but it went to his head, thought it was an anoint,
now he stands and yells, the left extolls,
just another poster boy for birth control,
and he would talk the whole way through it
and half way through, I thought boy, it's leftist stew, yeah,
a propaganda leftie stew..

and the crap's in the ladle,
for the leftie spoon,
can we send them packing way up to the moon,
when we gonna teach them , son I don't know, when
the world will be all right then, you know it'll be right then

well he won an oscar just the other day,
told to shut up, but in his leftie way,
he was loud and rude, he spit for a while,
grabbed a sandwich, and he sat with a smile,
what I'd really like George, is the keys to the white house,
can I have them , then you must de louse..

and the crap's in the ladle,
for the leftie spoon,
can we send them packing way up to the moon,
when we gonna teach them , son I don't know, when
the world will be all right then, you know it'll be right then

I haven't seen Moore's new movie yet, so I can't judge. But this is a well-structured parody, Malcolm, you did a good job putting it together and it works with the original tune. And your political pun in the chorus is clever and subtle: "....the world will be all right then, you know it'll be right then..."

I've seen the movie, it ROCKS, and I'm not a Kerry fan. (Is this the best the Dems can do? Sheesh!) I believe, however, that King George and his crowd of facist neo-cons are truly dangerous, and are taking us into an abyss of shredded personal liberties and global condemnation.

Oops! Forgot to say 5s for a great parody, Malcolm! If this posts, I just beat twit control.

Canada day? Canada has a day? [just kidding] This site used to have fair political parodies on it. Now left and right are just slinging mud faster than an itchy pig.

And that's the whole point, Laurence, at least from the point of view of those who pretty much control mainstream media. I.E., get everyone arguing over which mediocre Skull & Bones guy would be most "qualified" to "lead". Divide and conquer: no matter which one wins, America loses. Even Kerry will keep us in Iraq for an extended stay. He would, of course, increase taxes, but it's hard to imagine him outspending Bush. Either way, taxes will go up, either directly, or through the hidden tax of inflation (erosion of the US buck), or via both channels. We truly need a third party candidate capable of winning. Good luck, so far, on that wish!

moore's new film is great! saw it last night. i too am not impressed with kerry, but after seing everything that bush did and all the "suspicious" contacts he had to the same terrorists he claims to be chasing, i'd take just about aynthing over 4 more years of his admin. i really do encourage EVERY american to see this movie, no matter if you're a dem or a rep. a friend of mine refuses to see it b/c they are rep. i wonder what he is afraid of seeing? good job tho malky. i may agree with everything you said, but as far as making up songs go, this is still good.

Typical Higgins fare: There's a reference to excrement -- the word "crap," to say nothing of his politics, which would certainly be prefereable. Denunciations of all things to the left of Heinrich Himmler. Sweeping generalizations. Not typical Higgins fare? You forgot a verse! There are four verses to "Cat's In the Cradle!" (Just as there are four endings to Harry's song "30,000 Pounds of Bananas," which I adapted as "30 Months of Proof He's Bananas," if you don't mind the shameless plug.) Rod: No, Kerry's not the best we can do, but the best we can do is ineligible to run again. If he wasn't, Bush would be getting drunk in Texas right this minute watching John McCain to stop Bill Clinton from winning a fourth term. To our Canadian posters: I'm sorry I wasn't able to post on July 1, but I just couldn't get to a computer. And don't blame me for scheduling Expos vs. Jays for PUERTO RICO! Bless you, Canada, the freest country on Earth... until next January 20, when you go back to being Number 2.
