"Cat's in the Cradle"
The Lyrics: Well, I've long since retired, my son's moved away, I called him up just the other day.
I said, "I'd like to see you, if you don't mind". He said, "I'd love to dad, if I can find the time. You see my new job's a hassle and the kids have the flu, but it was sure nice talking to you dad, it's sure nice talking to you". And as I hung up the phone, it occurred to me, he's grown up just like me, my boy was just like me. Why: The entire song is about a father and son who can't find time to slow down. The father had to run around in the first two verses, then the son became busier than him!

| "Dreams Go By"
The Lyrics: You say you should have been a ballerina babe
There are songs I should have sung But I guess are dreams have come and gone You've got to dream when you are young And so you and I We've watched our years go by We've watched our sweet dreams fly far away Why: This song has an upbeat tempo and a pleasant clarinet part, but the song is about missed opportunities, compromising on ambitions, and regret.
