[flute and bass intro]
[guitar joins in, and then drums]

{Gotta War for Georgie B}
{Gotta War for Georgie B}

Start a War to get Elected
gonna lie 'bout what it's for
misuse our Soldiers every day
you will not show me the door
No Weapons found; that's a sorry fact
Find no facts in what I say
More lying still from Dick Cheney
I'll mislead you in every way

Tell lies and say what I'm pleased to
toss platitudes to appease you
Dissent; accuse you of Treason
for no reason...yeah

{War for Georgie B}
{Gotta War for Georgie B, uh-huh}

Everyday the Death Count growing
from the poor and middle class
Idle Rich get Tax Cut Handouts
earned while they sit on their ass

[Instrumental break]
{War for Georgie B}
{Gotta War for Georgie B}
{Our President, he wanted War, Got a War for Georgie B}
{War for Georgie B}
{Gotta War for Georgie B}
{War for Georgie B}

This War's one I selected
I wanted to sack Iraq
I told you it would be easy
but I left out several facts
Abused our Soldiers and Reserves
their ranks; now badly strained
My reasoning; most clear - absurd
more lives go down the drain

More War and Death I keep sellin'
Their stench is what you're now smellin'
I've put our Country through Hell, yeah
it continues...yeah

{War for Georgie B}
{Gotta War for Georgie B}
{War for Georgie B}

{War for Georgie B}
{Gotta War for Georgie B}
[start to fade out, volume lowers with each line here]
{War for Georgie B}
{War for Georgie B}
{War for Georgie B}
{Gotta War for Georgie B}

[Silence at end of fade - which then builds to one brief, but amped-up final Instrumental Jam line. Sing final lyric line below loudly to the jam line]

{GOTTA WAR FOR GEORGIE B, UH-UH-UH...}
Band: George W Bush: Lead vocal, lead strum guitar, flute & fife, harmonica ~ ~ ~ Dick Cheney: War Drums and other percussion; lyre, pacemaker ~ ~ ~ Donald Rumsfeld: Tone-deaf Brass Bass (played out of time with rest of group and lackadaisically...it's the wrong instrument for this song, but you have to play the one you have) ~ ~ ~ Condelezza Rice: Rhythm Guitar and Lip-Sync ~ ~ ~

DKTOS (not really familiar with Tull), but the lyrics are a good George W. Bash.

I seem to have song quotes on my mind lately This is one from one of Bruce Springsteen's covers: "War! what is it good for? Dubya: "Absolutely everything!"

Thanks, Michael...it's a cool OS...I've been working my way through a lot of Tull's stuff lately and it's been fun to do...thanks, alvin...you know this was a gas to record! carol...yeah, but it's really not his fault...how was he to know that starting a War might have consequences?

Carol: The Temptations sang "War" first, but it's best known by Edwin Starr in 1970, at the height (the depths?) of the Vietnam War. Bruce's version is OK, but he's done better covers. By a weird coincidence, Starr died on April 3, 2003, just two weeks after Georgie Bush started his "cakewalk."

Michael, I didn't know the 'Temps" did it first...thought it was Starr...thanks! BTW- for 'Tull' fans or aficionados, I have more Jethro Tull parodies coming up in the next week...
