The Lyrics

Tim Russert, moderator of NBC's "Meet The Press" died on June 13th.
Big Tim
Big Tim

Every Sunday, NBC was where he would arrive
For a TV show that he'd broadcast live
As the chief moderator there on Meet The Press
He showed style and class very few possess..Big Tim

Big Tim,
Big Tim,
We'll miss him,
Big Tim

Well, Buffalo, New York's where Tim Called home
Altho' he lived in DC, by the Capitol dome
He had twinklin' eyes, and a smile welcome warm
For his weekly guests, always stayed informed..Big Tim..
He was a newsman's man..all will agree
And tough questions he would ask, but always fair, he'd be
Politicians found out..he was hard to dodge
Seriously jounalistic.. stood for no hodge podge..

Big Tim,
Big Tim,
We'll miss him,
Big Tim

Then came that day, he was workin' at his desk
When his artery clogged, and you know the rest
Medics were summoned, all hopes prayed on
But he couldn't be revived, and doctors said he's gone..
Big Tim..
The sad news was a shock that we all could feel
About a giant of a man who was honest and real
Many tributes poured in, Tim was very well known
Words of kind sympathy for his fam'ly was shown
Big tim..

Big Tim,
Big Tim,
We'll miss him,
Big Tim

He had written a book..he called, "Big Russ And Me"
About him and his dad, an autobiography
Traced his father's values, and how he made them his own
When he'd speak of his Dad, a shining pride was shown,
Big Tim
Just had fifty-eight birthdays, not near enough
For a man who wore a good heart on his cuff
In these times of try and harsh politics
All of the players in the game laid down their sticks, for Tim

Big Tim,
Big Tim,
We'll miss him,
Big Tim

Big Tim,
Big Tim,
We'll miss him,,
Big Tim

Sir, this is a real GEM of a parody! Great Tribute to the best of the newsmen, who was the only " Voice of the Working Class" ! Very nice write here. It's so great. I shall miss him, too!

Thanks, Rex, Michael, and LCC....yeah, he seemed like an all around good honest guy...too bad we couldn't get more like him, not neccesarily into journalism, but to run for political office...

The guy only cared about one thing on this show and that was the truth. He was way fair and well centered. I too will miss him. It's kind of like Bob Barker retiring from "The Price is Right". Their is no heir apparent at this time. There will be a big one hour whole on Sunday mornings for some time to come. Great tribute, Farce. One saving grace is that he went doing what he liked best.
