Parody Song Title:

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Lately I've noticed someone is going around and giving scores of "4-2-3" (sometimes "3-2-3" or "3-2-2") without leaving any comments, critiques or remarks. Not just to me, but to a lot of other writers here, too. Maybe some of those are deserved or honest assessments. But on a lot of these parody's EVERY other score voted is all 5's or at the very least 4's and up in each category. So it seems more than a bit fishy to me. Since I don't know who is doing this or why I wrote this parody to ask the question. Didn't know if I could find a song to use to express my sentiments, but it turned out to be as easy as "4-2-3"
4-2-3, on every entry I make,
that's what I see
Hey, man, just what's the deal?
That's sleazy (it's so sleazy)
Ruins my average (ruins my average)
you enrage me

Don't agree (don't agree) doing this song was not that
easy for me (wasn't for me)
And now you screw me, too,
that's cheesy (it's so cheesy)
Ruins my average (ruins my average)
drives me crazy

Maybe I did something to piss you
Vengefully, now you poke me in the eye
Please try to see this thing from my view
All I want is for you to tell me "why"

(Mostly instrumental)
(4-2-3) (4-2-3) (in the background)

That's cheesy (it's real cheesy)
Ruins my average (it wrecks my average)
drives me crazy, hey

Not all one's, it's true (not all one's, it's true)
Still, this thing bugs me so I
ask this question of you (question of you)
Why do you do this, man? It's sleazy (so damn sleazy)
Ruins my average (it wrecks my average)
Now you plague me

4-2-3 (4-2-3), on every entry I make
that's what I see (annoying me)
Say, man, just what's the deal?
That's cheesy
(4-2-3)

~(FADE)~

You hit all my entries..

Not the same character, but I've got a similar one running around, and you express my sentiments exactly. I like it very much, Paul! 5's

(twiddling my thumbs while I wait out "twit" control). I'll keep checking back to see if 4-2-3 has hit you on a parody dedicated to him/her/it. Wonder if 5 minutes has passed yet?

I've got a send-up of my cousin's Len's song in the queue, but this one is much better.
Rod Worden - June 15, 2004 - Report this comment
Most excellent rant, Paul! Here are some 5s to help even things out.

"Wrecks my average." Sort of why I sometimes don't comment if I'm not giving 5's. People often want 5's more than they want honest feedback, even though averages mean nothing. (Does someone not liking it invalidate the 25 who do?) I vote my conscience, but I don't need the agita, and don't want to invite sniping, especially if I'm breaking someone's inexplicable perfect 5 streak, know what I mean? Sorry if that comes off an wrong, but I've seen so much ill-will just cause someone stated an opinion someone disagreed with. Can't vote for this, since I don't know the song you're parodying, but I was curious to take a look, since this seems to be a popular parody theme lately.

Adagio/John/Rod - Thanks! Hee Man - I've got nothing against people giving me lower scores if that's an honest vote. And they don't need to leave a comment if they don't want to. You can break my streak of 5's on a parody without commenting, it's not a crime and I promise not to hunt you down. But when I see the same EXACT score of "4-2-3" suddenly being voted on a number of my entries when all the other votes are high, well it makes me think someone is playing some silly game. Sure, they can do it if they want. There is no rule that says they can't. And I'm not automatically entitled to an explanation. No reason I should be, really. I just want to let whoever it is know that I KNOW, in case they were feeling slick & sly and thought they were getting over on me. By the way, part of why I'm speaking to this issue is that I'm not the only one who has been seeing this exact same score coming up repetitively on their works. If it were just me I'd wonder about it but I'd wonder to myself and maybe to a few people I communicate with on the side. Thanks for your feedback, this one is a little tricky to explain and I hear your point very clearly.

John B., Sorry, I missed that part about Len Barry being your cousin the first time through - that's kind of interesting. Well, I'm running late for a luncheon I'm supposed to be at in, oh 1 hour and 10 minutes - gotta break it off and git...

Hey, just thought I'd drop in and give a 4,2,3... just kidding ;)
alvin rhodes - June 15, 2004 - Report this comment
4, 2, 3 is better than getting 28 1s like i did that one time...i like this one...5s.....
G30RG3 - June 15, 2004 - Report this comment
4/5/5 The only partof the song that did not really strike me is your rhyme schiem. Other wise it was great! I thought it was very funny and agreeable. I get 4/2/3s a lot to. And avarages do matter. They determine what spot you are in in the authors page according to the numbers of parodies you wrote. We'll keep writin.

Macphisto & Alvin. Thanks. Alvin, I remember when you got those 28 "one's" G30RG3, Thanks, I've got no problem with a 4-5-5- vote here. Did you think it didn't rhyme, rhymed badly or in the wrong place or just didn't like my choices there? I thought I matched the rhyme pattern of the original pretty well. Anyway, I'm glad you liked it. Hey, I see I got a "3-2-1" here, I wonder if it's my "4-2-3" buddy? I'll bet it is - "3-2-1" is "1-2-3" reversed. Well, that's moderately clever if that's what you were thinking. Congratulatons! Some day maybe you'll graduate to using real words and sentences, my friend. Keep working on it, I'm sure you'll figure it out sooner or later...

Hehehehe...exactly what I was thinking when I saw the 3-2-1 score, Paul.

423 5s! Great job!

Jack W. Thanks! Adagio - yeah, I think it's the same voter.

I wasn't sure if I remembered enough of this song to rate the parody, but your pacing was so spot-on it kept jogging my memory along. Great job.
John G - June 15, 2004 - Report this comment
Neat parody, Paul! Can't imagine why anyone would one-it. These 5s should help out--you earned 'em!
Paul Robinson - June 16, 2004 - Report this comment
Melhi - Thanks. Yeah, I thought the pacing was spot-on also. John G - Thanks! I'm fairly certain the "1" in overall (part of a "3-2'1" vote someone laid on me) was from the person this parody was about. It was there Idea of being clever, I believe. And I must give them a moderate amount of credit for that, as I mentioned above. As I also mentioned above, maybe someday they will graduate to real words and sentences instead of just numbers. Then I encouraged them to keep working at it. But that's all small change, really. I very much appreciate the positive and supportive remarks I see posted here on this one.
