"'Perro,' Dali"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Dali (acute accent removed from the "i" to shift the stress to the first syllable) and Luis Buñuel's 1929 "Andalusian Dog" features a scene that cuts, so to speak, from a long thin cloud crossing in front of the moon to a man slitting a woman's eyeball with a razor. A dead-donkey eye was used for the effect.
"Perro," Dali,
You and Luis' "Doggie":
Caused a fright; it wasn't right; that's mighty strong
Stuff that you sell, Dali,
You're not well, Dali,
Yet I'm goin' out and blowin'
Lotsa dough, 'n' throngs
Haul out the loot, payin'
For your shoot, saying,
"We had to turn eyes away till that scene's end."

So, it's a wrap, fellas,
Flick through which we won't nap, fellas.
Dali, you are sick, you and your friend.

"Perro," Dali,
You and Luis' "Doggie":
Moonlit night, the eye is sliced; the knife is long.
Still, that stuff sells, Dali,
It compels, Dali,
So I'm goin' out and blowin'
Lotsa dough, 'n' throngs
Grab pesetas, payin'
To see blade flayin'
That girl's scored ocular orb; much lunch upends:

Blown, gorged-down wraps, yellow
Bananas, bilious sap yellow,
Doggies in buns, some crème brulée,
Doughnuts in bunches, pears flambés.
Dali made 'em sick, he and his friend.

As long as it's not chugging out a fireplace at me, I can handle it.

I remember being traumatized by that scene when watching Andaluvian Dog in film class. Ugh.
