Parody Song Title:
"Dray Team"
The Lyrics
Haulin' hay with a dray team,
Haulin' hay for my hay-eatin' goats.
Though they're omnivores, they lean
More to munchin' these bundles of oats.
If I were a businessman, I'd tan their hides,
Turn 'em into gloves that are soft inside.
I'm mowin' this hay, but I should just let them run
All over the place and I'd have a new-mown lawn.
So I'll make 'em my eat team—
Keep 'em eatin'; won't have to cut more hay.
They'll keep my lawn neatly trimmed,
Then a game of bocce I will play.
But if I do this I will find that I have got
A couple of nags that don't do much more than trot,
And I'll see that they are costin' me a cartload
Of money to maintain. . .not even being rode.
(Sounds of horses neighing)
Now I'm tellin' myself that what I did was right.
My dray team for my dogs is now a tasty bite.
When they figured out my plans, they started to rear.
They'll keep my sharp-peis eatin' till dinnertime's near.
Hear 'em bay for my dray team.
First they play, then I say, "Eat up, boys!"
Right now they're a little lean.
When they're weaned, I'll wok 'em with bok choy.
(Whistling, "Here, boys!")
