When you’re feelin’ low and the fish won’t bite,
you need to dip line, get some sole to put you right.
You gotta get bait on, and off it will pay.
Then a vittles fish o’ sole will come your way.

To that hook get bait on, but watch out that you
do not by mistake put a hole in your palm through.
You have to raise your arms and cast off your pole.
And then pretty quick, you should get a hit o’ sole.

Your hook and bait will fall to where the fish are movin’.
There are swishing fins on sole, and the bait they start chewin’, yeah!

You can then feel the tugging on the line—
the fish mouth is grabbed by the hook’s sharp tine.
You have to reel it in now that you have trolled.
When you get back to your house, you’re gonna have vittles o’ sole.
