Original Song Title:

"Stewball"

Original Performer:

Peter, Paul and Mary

Parody Song Title:

"Screwball"

Parody Written by:

Michael McVey

The Lyrics

Old Screwball was a racehorse, and I'm glad he's not mine.
He never drank water, he never drank wine.

And so you may ask me, what did he drink?
I cannot tell you, but boy did it stink!

Oh, the racetrack was crowded, and Screwball was there.
He lunged at the Bay and he tripped the Gray Mare.

He sent some up yonder and made others fall,
He won by default, that violent Screwball.

Well, I bet on old Screwball but lost like the rest.
Screwball won the race, but he failed the drug test.

Like a mad bull he hollered, and my stomach moaned.
His owner's in trouble, and I need a loan.

Old Screwball was a racehorse, and I'm glad he's not mine.
Don't let him tempt you if his name's on the line!

DKTOS, but I read a copy of the original and from that I'd call this a decent parody. I wish I knew the tune because this looks like so much fun. I had never heard of this song before. According to Webfitz it charted on the Canadian charts but missed the top 100 in the US. Fine job MM.
