"Stewball"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: Old Stewball was a racehorse,
And I wish he were mine. He never drank water. He always drank wine. Why They're Nonsensical: First, one might suspect that a horse that drank that way would be too drunk to stand up, let alone race. But that's really beside the point. If we take seriously the "never " and "always" in these lyrics, they would mean that Stewball so drank from birth. In that case, we'd be talking about a short-lived foal that died from dehydration and/or alcohol poisoning, never growing up into a horse.

"Puff the Magic Dragon"
The Lyrics: A dragon lives forever, but not so little boys.
Painted wings and giant's rings make way for other toys. One gray night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more. And Puff, that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar. His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain. Puff no longer went to play along the Cherry Lane. Without his lifelong friend, Puff could not be brave. So Puff that mighty Dragon, sadly slipped into his cave. Why: This is actually a children's song and though this is more of a mellower version, there are versions that are more upbeat. But sometimes this song contains the last verse. What are we trying to do, tell our children that we grow older and die?
