Song Parodies -> "Keen!"

Original Song Title:

"Jean"

Original Performer:

Rod McKuen

Parody Song Title:

"Keen!"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

Keen! “Jean” composer’s dead;
he’s taken leave from the scene.
And some vow: his poems blow,
I’ll vouchsafe, so you know:
my heart and head go for “Jean.”

“Jean”’s clean composer did thrive
among those who were Kahlil-keen.
But some said, “This swill is making me ill!”
They have got no charm, and they’re mean!

They’re just creeps who don’t rally to what he’d say.
Was a star whose words scintillated and shone.
So I hum and I’m singing tunes, celebrating. . .

like “Jean.” Stream: noses have bled
for Rod panegyric and paean.
Now I mourn for the day God took Rod away. . .
the best we’ve ever heard or seen.

Keen, keen not to survive:
I’ve lost all my hopes and my dreams.
Raison d’être killed; Ruger clip is filled.
I’ll put that small arm to my bean.

On behalf of myself, and Robert Arndt, what sort of Ruger are you using? The little .380 will do the job at close range. I like the 9mm, it fits my hand better. Be sure to get the "s" model with the striker firing pin, not the version with the long, clumsy double action trigger.

Ah Ruger, America's generic gun manufacturer! Yes, I am curios too... revolver or automatic? The SR-9, 40, and 45 come to mind or numerous revolvers. Ruger AFAIK never submitted an ACR rifle in any cocompetition. At least Remington, Bushmaster, and Colt have. Btw Patrick, the Secret Service is now using the Magpul FM-9 SMG ...
