The Lyrics

An attempt to respond to Scathe's parody. Yes, we should get out of there, but not before the new Iraq can defend itself from the "insurgents" (who are really terrorists led by an Islamic extremist from Jordan). If not, there will be the danger of the same type of bloodbath which happened after Vietnam was "reunified", when the Communists murdered a million Vietnamese people (with hardly a peep from the anti-war protesters of that time). The paint used to mark the voter's fingers in the recent election has been called both "blue" and "purple", so I used both colors. Pronounce "Viet" in one syllable, as "vyet" (not "vee-yet").
Some say we've had enough
We ought to leave Iraq
What would it be like if
We went and turned our backs?
It seems we haven't learned
The lesson of Vietnam
A million killed by commies
After our side ran

Some say Saddam was not
Involved with terrorists
Truth is he harbored
Abu's Nidal and Abbas
He offered money
For the suicidal bombs
If your kid kills himself
Your reward's from Saddam

Those war protesters say
That we should leave Iraq
"No war for oil", they say
They want us to come back
Well France and Germany
Sought oil deals with Hussein
Our war prevented what
They were trying to gain

Osama's in his cave
Zarqawi's in Iraq
If we leave there too soon
The Baathists will come back
Insurgents hoping that we'll
Chicken out and go
Muslim extremists then will
Get to run the show

Zarqawi told us that
Democracy's a sin
If we give up our fight
Al Qaeda's gonna win
Hey there, Zarqawi
Here's my finger just for you
Not just the middle one
You see, it's painted blue

Hmmm, mmm, mmm....
I think we should be careful
When we leave
We should not
Leave too soon

I wanna see Saddam, when he's put up on trial
I wanna see the painted purple fingers in Iraq
Yeah!

Probably not your best work, Steve, but the fingers and you make an excellent point.

Leave Iraq, but not too soon? According to the Bush Dictionary, that makes you a "flip-flopper!"

While I can't say I fully agree with your views, the pacing is pretty fantastic. I'll give you 5s.
