Parody Song Title:

"Hungry Kitty(Don't Devour Me)"

Parody Written by:

Paul Robinson

The Lyrics

This is a "Point-of-View" piece...a "mouse-eye" perspective on "kitty's" ingrained hunting instincts...not much fun from there, it appears...
Hungry kitty, prowling 'round the house
Hungry kitty, stalking this poor mouse
Hungry kitty, I can't escape you
I think I'm trapped
Soon I'll be eaten by this cat
Mercy!

Hungry kitty, won't you let me be?
Hungry kitty, please don't dismember me
Hungry kitty, hope you don't like to dine on mice
'cause eating me would not be nice...
GRRRR...

Hungry kitty, go away
Hungry kitty, not today
Hungry kitty, please don't prey on me
Hungry kitty, hear my plea
Hungry kitty, don't eat me
Hungry kitty, stay away from me

Don't they feed you good every night?
Please don't devour me, go on a diet

Hungry kitty, don't stare at me
Hungry kitty, I am not tasty
Hungry kitty, just walk away
Oy vey!
Please don't make lunch of me, OK?
Why don't you eat what's on your plate?
I hear that "9-Lives" stuff tastes great
Please don't eat me...
Now she's stalking back towards me
Yeah...that cat is stalking me
OH, NO! Hungry Kitty!!

5's, great job, Paul. Was it Roy Orbison's legendary uvular trill that inspired this?
sparky - October 18, 2004 - Report this comment
just excellent :)

Adagio/Johnny D/sparky - Thank you! Johnny, actually I started out thinking about writing "Kitty Woman" - a theme involving Halle Berry's "Catwoman" character and her exploits. Not a bad idea, but I didn't see the movie so I would be guessing as to what she actually did...Feel free to use it if you did see it, 'cause I can't, bet there's a pretty good parody in there...Anyway, THEN the "uvular trill" - I love how that phrase sounds...occurred to me...

Kitty Woman - great idea! You should do that too....."Kitty Woman, the girl I like to stroke - although your furballs - kinda make me choke" - 555

Stuart - Thanks! Maybe if nobody else does it soon. I'm going out of town for a bit and probably won't be doing too much writing during that time. I'll be observing and jotting stuff down while on my trip, though. Last time I got a handful of good parodies out of my travels. I'll pitch one of them because you weren't around here then. "Country Roads, Don' t Drive Stoned"...

Johnny D & Per - Thanks! Hope everybody had something better to eat on Thanksgiving day than this hungry kitty - and I certainly hope you all had a better day than that poor, terrified little meal of a mouse parody character did...
Paul Robinson - November 26, 2004 - Report this comment
Jeez, I was just looking at the comments and realized I thanked "Stuart & Martha" - I really should have reversed the order - then I could have thanked "Martha/Stuart"...get it??
Stuart McArthur - November 26, 2004 - Report this comment
since, apparently, you whole day over there is designed around giving thanks, Paul, why not just do it??
Paul Robinsonq - November 26, 2004 - Report this comment
Yes, Stuart, we Americans ARE very confusing AND CONFUSED about the timing and propriety of thanking other people...you see, it's become customary over here to TAKE things from people first and THEN thank them for it later, as if they gave it up to you voluntarily...it makes us feel better about ourselves, and after all, isn't that what really counts?? OH...Thanks again!! BUT...this reminds me of a STORY...OK...many, MANY years ago (about 30), during the period when my family owned and operated Car Washes here in the Los Angeles area our North Hollywood location had this one particular customer from one of the Scandinavian countries...this man was very nice...it was impossible NOT to want to be polite to him...Anyway, whenever a customer paid our Cashier we ALWAYS thanked them...but this kind gentleman had a way of unintentionally throwing our "rhythm" out of kilter. When he handed over his order ticket and money HE would say "Thank you" - actually, with his accent it was more like "Saank You"...so of course we say "Thank You!"...and then HE says "Saank You"...I mean, who is going to be the first to not respond in kind? Our Cashier's were always trained to be polite and "Thank" and I often filled in at the window and made sure to do it, too, of course. And it usually went on for about 3 or 4 volleys, always with very genuine smiles on both sides, because he WAS very likeable...you did not want to hurt his feelings...and he apparently felt he should be saying "Saank you" on these occasions...how did it end up?? We finallys sold the place...(but not because of him). Thanks for staying with this story, Stuart...
Stuart McArthur - November 26, 2004 - Report this comment
no worries, Paul, and saanks for the story :-)
