Had gathered in the room
For a Presidential Address
On the subject of our health care
Such is protocol

When he walked into the great room
He had copies of his speech
For Pelosi and Joe Biden
Like 500 total strangers
In the quiet of the Capitol hall
In their chairs
Listening ears
There for President Obama
There were boos and there were cheers
Also congressman Joe Wilson
Giving voice to far-right fears:

"You la-lie

Lie, lie, lie, lie lie"

Having only workman's wages
I needed health care desperately
But I found no doctors
Just a e-mail from the quacks
Who sell enlargement pills
I do declare,
Our current system is now broken
But Wilson doesn't care:
