Foreign Language in English Songs:

"The Boxer"
The Lyrics:
Lie la lie la lie la lie. La lie la lie la lie la lie.
Why:
"Paul Simon summed it up, and his refrain "lie la lie" ain't no lie." To us, it does now sound like he is saying something, but in fact 'lie la lie' does have an interpetation in Hebrew, it means roughly 'nighty night.'

Upbeat Songs With Depressing Lyrics:

"Cecilia"
The Lyrics:
Cecilia you're breaking my heart
you're shaking my confidence daily
Oh Cecilia

Why:
Lyrics describe breakup; however, background music is so loud it's kinda hard to hear.
Submitted by: Alyssa
"The Sun is Burning"
The Lyrics:
Now the sun has come to earth
Shrouded in a mushroom cloud of death.
Death comes in a blinding flash of hellish heat that leaves a smear of ash
And the sun has come to earth.
Why:
A sweet lullaby like song about dreamy bees and babies and hand holding couples, and then all of a sudden... THE MUSHROOM CLOUD OF DEATH! It then goes on to describe "Twisted sightless wrecks of men", all still to the same sweet tune.
Submitted by: Karen

Lighter Side of Serious Bands:

"At The Zoo"
This song represents a humorous side of Simon and Garfunkel when they mention about what animals represent and a drunk zookeeper.
Submitted by: Paul Warren

Hidden Messages:

"So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright"
Near the end of the song (about 2:55) you can hear Paul Simon calling out "So long, Arty". The song was written for Art Garfunkel (who sings it) because Art said Paul Simion couldn't write a song about his favorite architect. It was the last song they recorded for a long time, so the 'so long' was true. The song is as much about Art as Frank.

"Save The Life Of My Child"
