Parody Song Title:

"The Psychiatrist Song (The Healing of Nat)"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

This parody is about a psychiatrist who works with a classic, albeit stereotypical example of an insane person, and returns him to a state of competence. "Nat" is not a real person, I just made him up, and the name fit in with the pacing of the OS (original song.)
What a job I have
Called psychiatry
Shrinking people’s heads
While they lie on my couch
Weirdos’ brains, I mend.

I got a patient, Nat
Wears a tin-foil hat
Thinks he’s Napoleon
And he’s hoardin’ alley cats
I made him normal!

After I gave him meds,
My caseload shrank by one.
No more Napoleon,
He’s back to normal now
He’s healed now!

On his return visit
He sat on my couch
Talked of recovery
I’m elated, yeah
Oh, I love my job!
Oh, I love it!

Nice, but he'll be back when he stops his meds

Thanks, T1K. I have heard of exactly the same thing in real life.

Well wrote. 5s.

Thanks, Stephen. It seems like hardly anyone has visited my parodies lately... maybe it's because of the one I submitted that had to do with eating the Bible?

Andria - I took the time to go to Youtube to get a listen to the OS because I DKTOS. I would bet that there are not a lot of people that KTOS. You should put a link in your top comments box for a youtube listen to the OS - you might get more business if you make it easy for readers who DKTOS. If you don't know how to contruct a youtube link, email me and I'll send you an example.. You can reach me through the sites' messageboard. My screen name on the messageboard is DoRitos. If I try to put the example into this comment block it will drop the code because no code is permitted in the comment block.

And about your parody, your Freudian slip is showing, but that was the intent. Nice parody. Here are some fives, now tell me how that makes you feel?

Thanks, Guy. The fives make me feel really good. And by the way, you've got mail.

Another well written parody from you, Andria! You sure told an incredulous story with this one! I keep thinking that I need therapy myself. Here's some Freudian 5's!

Thanks, Christie. Everything I have done is well-written IMHO except for my first four listed on AIR and the "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" parody from last year. Those were all some of the first I'd written or were written when I was either sleepy or intoxicated. I don't know you too well, but you don't seem like you need therapy. I've been told I need therapy, btw, but that was back in middle school.

What do you call your place of work? The Nutcracker Suite.

What's your favorite movie? One of mine is One who flew over...
Andria - October 17, 2009 - Report this comment
Very funny comments, Lionel. In real life, I work in estate liquidation, and my favorite movie is "Jerry Maguire". Although "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" is pretty good too, and I actually took the tour of the now-demolished Oregon State Hospital building that the movie was filmed in. I will describe it as being musty, dilapidated and about 40 years overdue for demolition, even though it was a historic building. Thanks for V&C, and your comments cracked me up.
