The Lyrics

I am just a gay guy though my story’s seldom told
I’ve been treated like an outcast, as a consequence of my sexuality
All lies and jests still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.
When I left my home and my family I was no more than a boy, in the company of swimmers
At the Stanford College Swimming Pool, flying high.
Keeping hid, seeking friends who will understand the person that I am
Looking for the places to discover them.

Chorus: Treat me right, treat me right right right right. Treat me right. Treat me right right right right right.

Asking only for acceptance I come looking for support, but I get no guidance
Just a token of the pride flag on their maple desk.
I do declare there were times I was so lonely, that I took no comfort there.

Chorus

Then I’m laying out my swimming gear and wishing I was gone, going home.
Where my homosexuality is free to be. Free to be going home.
In the clearing stands a gay man and a swimmer by his trade.
And he carriers a reminder, of every bit of rudeness that hurt him till he cried out in his anger and his shame.
I can’t take it, I can’t take it, but the swimmer still remains

Chorus

As a fellow ex-swimmeress, *hugs* from Finland.

A great use of the OS (Amiright's term for the original song; song that is being parodied) Tracks the sentiments and the pacing of the OS perfectly ..... In general, we try for comedy, hence the "How funny" category in voting. But what you're doing is also perfectly legitimate

Not as much "funny" but "touching".
