The Lyrics
This is my second Sound of Silence parody, but it's based off of a different idea from my first. Most of the information contained in it is technically correct, except for the fact that the end product of glycolysis isn't acetate but pyruvate. I hope you can forgive for this minor detail, I only added it because "pyruvate" does not fit into the pacing of this song. Also I did not add in the minor detail that FAD is involved in glucose metabolism, and that individually electrons from FAD and NAD pass through only three of the four complexes on the mitochondria inner membrane. But adding all these details is too much to ask for in such a short parody song. I hope this is useful for students who are studying this subject.

Glycolysis turns you to two
Acetate and CO2

I was about to say "it's not acetate", then I read your initial comments. I can't see what's wrong with "pyruvate", though: they're both three syllables (and 3 carbons... no, acetate's only two). But kudos for getting in nearly all the Krebs cycle into Sound of Silence.

You're partially correct that pyruvate can fit into the lyrics, seeing that it has three syllables. Perhaps I should have thought out these lyrics better before I submit it. However, pacing has two parts to it, the first part is matching the number of syllables and the other is matching the stress. "Acetate" has a better stress pattern than "pyruvate." The other thing which concerned me was the rhyming scheme, the only word which I could come up with a word which rhymes with "two" is "CO2." If I'm meticulous about things such as rhyming scheme, pacing and technical correctness of the information that I'm presented, I would have thought these things out and written better lyrics. The reason I do not is that I have a life beyond writing parody lyrics, therefore I only spend a reasonable amount of time but not quite enough to perfect my lyrics, otherwise it would be interferring with the other things I'm supposed to do. Thank you for pointing out my inaccuracies, though.
