The Lyrics

To mark the 20th anniversary of Chernobyl...
It was twenty years ago today
That Chernobyl caused us all to pray
Steam explosion sent it off the dial
And contaminants were sprayed for miles
"Experiment we must push through..."
"Reactor Four's just disappeared..."
Rad'ioactive clouds seen 'cross our lands

There's rad'ioactive clouds seen 'cross our lands
Control rods set the boys aglow
There's rad'ioactive clouds been 'cross our lands
Shit happens, stuffed the rate of flow
Rad'ioactive clouds been, rad'ioactive clouds seen
Rad'ioactive clouds been 'cross our lands

Begun the air to adhere
Alert had me in chill
Ukraine was dumb, there's no defence
"We'd like to melt you down with us
We'd love to bake your bones"

"My fruit, yearly, as a crop does glow
And I thought I saw ex-tra toes..."
To not have seen how much could go wrong
At least one of them's a silly nong
There's isotopes seducing you
Carcinomas still appear...
As rad'ioactive clouds been 'cross our lands

Happened during Ronnie's reign; he who said nuke power would give us energy "too cheap to meter." My metric: 5-5-5

I really wanted to find a way of making a reference to Three Mile Island, and how, by comparison, it was like a stroll in the park, but alas, it would'nae fit, no matter how much I tried to force it :)

Excellent work about a subject with which I'm fascinated. Last night, I saw another special on the History Channel about Chernobyl. I didn't think it was wholly accurate, but it still was good stuff.

Hobbits, just remember to cover some of the cursing with asteriks.

Cursing ? LOL, I think the word in question *may* just be in common enough usage now to be not considered that way any more ! Good grief !
