Song Parodies -> "The Ballad Of Taunting Yoko"

Original Song Title:

"The Ballad Of John And Yoko"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"The Ballad Of Taunting Yoko"

Parody Written by:

Merry & Pippin

The Lyrics

Background: Pippin: I am just old enough to have been aware of the Beatles before they broke up. Having older siblings, I was indoctrinated with the view that the break-up was all Yoko's fault! I grew up not knowing any differently. This song examines the whole sordid issue from a hardly dispassionate point of view (that of the boys in the band). Do I still feel the same way? Find out in the comments after the song!

For any young 'uns out there, a low-bitrate mp3 of the song can be found here.
Standing with her locks so un-handsome
Kinda like a doll in a trance
George, Ringo and Mac said, you finally cracked
And so they whined and then they looked quite askance
Cripes! She’s so Japanese-y!
De-tect some animos’ty
Her name’s full of O’s an’
We’ll suffer music-al-ly

Orient conceptual artist
Half a loon by another name
Boys are down when they play
Over Abbey Road way
Cos she morosely hangs around - really lame
How’d you find her so easy?
Do girls from East give good tup?
There’s strange things she’s showing
Like perfumed plums in a cup

Drove her Johnny up a ladder at art show
Magnifying glass, it impressed
The ceiling it read (simple as smack in the head)
It’s urgent life-enhancing message was “yes”
Yikes! Yoko’s found the secret!
Why did we of that not think?
The key’s the simplic’ty
Or did the whole thing just stink?

Johnny and this honey caused a scandal-y
Takin’ off their clothes for charity
To Press new wife said:
“Look boys, we’re in bed !”
Thank goodness for large bedsheets
I extol - wink!

Caterwauling crap laid on records
Under-stocked with talent, a drag
George Martin bled from ears on his head
This must be John’s idea of a gag
Spliced the group, made us cheesy
You’ve got us singing in nines
It made you glad knowing
We’re going out of our minds?

Record cover, it was a worry
Jumbleys on the front, with a crack
That lack of finesse left us so unimpressed
Those lucky acorns stayed in the sack
Cripes! A package so sleazy
Yoko did scar the Fab Three
The group is unrav’ling
The boys all grouse about she
The group is unrav’ling
Breakup was spouseabout spree
The answer? Ahhh, what's a day (or a parody) without a few good value judgements? Guilty! Muwahahaha!

M&P: it's good to have the both of you back :-)
I know what you mean about the "all Yoko's fault" brigade, too.

this is hilarious....especially liked "large bedsheets", "george martin's ears" and "jumbleys".....but what exactly is "good tup" ?

Would you believe DKTOS on THIS one? It was a good read, nevertheless. 5's

All else aside, Yoko's music was just a lot of noise and we wouldn't know her from Adam if she didn't hook up with John.

McLuhan/Warhol: Art is anything you can get away with. Yoko Ono: proof.

Err, if that's no good, think of how Preggy Sue ended up in her current dilemma! :)

Ono was the witch o'East . . . fiercely hated in NorCAL. But the ~ Fab 4 ~ were growing up and moving on . . . . Linda Eastman would shortlly enter the scene, another witch o'Mean. They were talentless, middle-aged Groupies!!

I'm surprised that I showed up so late and no one picked up on these lines Hilarious! And I can tell a lot of the parts that Pip wrote, sup? Ono - all of a sudden the virus I had changed my whole keyboard characters to 5's. And don't ask me how I worte the last line when my whole keyboard is 5's. I have to save something of trickery in reserve for the virus slingers.

I've been absent from the board for a few days doing battle with anti-spyware pirates who hijacked my laptop. I have vanquisted them and in true Klingon tradition have devoted an opera to their banishment that will appear if not hacked tomorow on amiright. Good job you two and nice to see you both back. Adagio and you two back is just plain solid gold.
