My friend, Larry, from work generally eats only healthy foods, but he has one weakness: donuts. So I wrote this with him in mind.

We drove through town on the road from the Highway
Past billboards that advertise crispy French Fries
Suddenly your son says that he'd like fried chicken
Your mind conjures buckets of thighs
Double-thick milk shakes all topped with whipped cream
Make your mouth water you said
Look for a place where you can get a snack
There are none

good pacing and funny...plus it really hits home...when i was a kid my dad's idea of a vacation would to drive 900 miles with as little stops as possible....then wake up at 3 the next morning and do it again
