Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Twentieth President's Shot"

Parody Written by:

Alvin Rhodes

The Lyrics

well, he lasted ten weeks
then he crashed and was late
it was a...tragic scene
it was a...tragic date
the time just dragged...death watch by all his docs

as that...(bang bang)...twentieth president's shot
as that...(bang bang)...twentieth president's shot

much tears
big fears
not fifty years...he clocked
as that twentieth president's shot...oh no

in a bloody pool
hit by a gunman in wait
in a state...so...cruel
his medics...sealed his fate
they wasted time and acted dumb as rocks

as that...(bang bang)...twentieth president's shot
as that...(bang bang)...twentieth president's shot

now he's all..wrapped up
inside...a wooden...box

as that twentieth president's shot..oh no
twentieth president's shot...oh no
twentieth president's shot
as that twentieth...president's...shot

Had to use Keyword to find out which president this was...First thought it was Lincoln...no A in History for me, I guess...very good, and dramtic, job of recreating the event here..

Good use of OS and history lesson - at least a cartoon cat was named for him; otherwise not too many would remember this name.

Sorry it took me so long to find this one, Alvin, but you really hit the target with this one. You're one of Amiright's stalwarts -- thankfully, though, not the kind of Stalwart that Guiteau was. As the author of "The Cat's What You Think Of," which I figured would be the only James Garfield-themed parody in Amiright history, I approve.
