Parody Song Title:

"Based On Truth"

Parody Written by:

David Aykanian

The Lyrics

A political number with a touch of humor after the second verse.
They deny the Armenian plight
The facts are plain as day
Tried to run
Tried to hide
The turks committed genocide
The turks committed genocide
The turks committed genocide, yeah

They raped our mothers here
They killed fathers there
But can you still recall
The time we cried
The turks committed genocide
The turks committed genocide

Yeah!
C'mon, yeah

Everybody loves yalanchi
Everybody loves yalanchi
Eat it
Eat it
Eat it
Eat it hye

I found an island in your arms
Country in your eyes
Arms that chain us
Eyes that lie
The turks deny the genocide
The turks deny the genocide
The turks deny, oww!
Oh, yeah!

1915
Week to week
Day to day
Hour to hour
Facts are clear
Why do they lie?
The turks deny the genocide
The turks deny the genocide
The turks deny
The turks deny
The turks deny
The turks deny
Yeah,yeah,yeah,yeah
Yeah,yeah,yeah,yeah,yeah

I learned something about history from your parody; it's well-written.

This, of course, is not "funny" but "point well made." And if someone as clearly intelligent as Royce didn't know about the Armenian genocide until she saw this parody, it proves that history, indeed, is written by "the winners." If only the Armenians had a George Washington, or even a Lech Walesa.
Charlie Decker - April 26, 2005 - Report this comment
The Armenian genocide shouldn't be "nobody's buisiness but the Turks." I like this sort of parody. Great job!

Love it, good to see in light of the fact USA Today had a picture of a Turkish soldier commerating Gallipoli (the death of 80,000 soldiers during WWI) and not the massacres of the Armenians in their Monday April 25 paper!

Well done!! Any light shone onto this ongoing lie will hopefully let the truth be free. GO man Go!
