"Whites That I've Sat In"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Written after watching my son at cricket practice
Whites that I've sat in, on mud or on grass
Green and brown patches cover my knees
Trousers I've often cleaned, with stainbusters before
Not coming out now, they're not white anymore
Though I've washed them, yes I've washed them
Two times, I've washed them

'Mazing that people play cricket each day
Not covered in grass stains - whites white, and not grey
Don't think it's essential to slide every match
Or believe you should always dive for a catch

And I've washed them, yes I've washed them
Five times, I've washed them

Whites that I've sat in, kinda grey, brown and green
Becoming threadbare, but not coming clean
Wish they were teflon, so the dirt wouldn't stick
And, hey! if you slide then, you'd slide really quick

And I've washed them, yes I've washed them
Ten times, I've washed them
Clean? No, I've washed them

And I've washed them, yes I've washed them
Twenty times, I've washed them
Clean now! I've washed them

I've often wondered how in sports they always have spotless uniforms.....maybe they have a whole set of them? Good job.

Not bad, but..."Ground deep, the gathering grime...Shout cleaner might remove these stains tonight, or is it just an illusion?" 555

Sparkling work, though I don't understand why you didn't use 'ass' instead of 'knees' in line 2 to get the rhyme.
Phil Alexander - June 08, 2005 - Report this comment
er.. that was kind of the joke, Lee - I often put in a non-rhyme where there's an obvious (generally ruder) word that the mind will fill in for you. Thanks for the "sparkling" - always nice to get a new adjective :-)

Well, you have to forgive me -- at times I ain't too bright (or sparkling). I thought that might have been it, but I weren't sure.
