went to the store for stella
and oh, my face was red
cause this list wasn't stuff for fellas
twas a bunch of girly stuff instead

lady took the list from my palm
she said, "sonny, i got what you want"
she said, "in fact, i've got it all"
she said, "you're in luck"

said i was embarrassed, so
to buy private things for girls, you know
she said, "common, for most guys...
to hate making these kinds of buys"

she chose those items, girly
i looked downward to avert my eyes
she said she had it covered
as she picked the special merchandise

i hurried back home to my woman
just as mad as i could be
i told her how i'd felt so oddly
so, why'd she make a fool out of me

then stella struck me
and soon her pushes came to shoves
the items that i got for stella
was the wrong stuff

now, i'm in dutch with stella
though i thought i'd been a thoughtful fella
we still use that store, you see
but these days, ol' stella goes with me
