The Lyrics

Ed Miliband, the new Labour Party leader, made his inaugural speech at the party conference yesterday. In that speech he mentioned "New Generation" 14 times (or 15 times, or 18 times depending on which news report you were listening to).. so there was only one possible song to write
Labour Members, Listen up (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)
I'm leader now, I won't shut up (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)
I'm different to Blair and c-c-co. (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)
Here's something else you should know (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)

It's a New Generation
It's a New Generation, Labour

I need to make you un-un-derstand (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)
Not a left-wing U-U-Union man (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)
But in my leadership or-oration (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)
I'm just talkin' 'bout New G-g-g-generation (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)

It's a New Generation
It's a New Generation, Labour

We went down the wr-wr-wrong track (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)
When we invaded Ir-r-r-raq (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)
That wasn't at my instig-ig-gation (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)
Won't do it in my New G-g-generation (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)

It's a New Generation
It's a New Generation, Labour

So now I hope you get my gist (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)
That I'm a humble optimist (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)
I'm *different* to Blair and c-c-co. (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)
Thanks for listening.. now you know (Talkin' 'bout New Generation)

It's a New Generation
It's a New Generation, Labour

And now we know about "Who" Miliband was speaking when he kept saying "New Generation". Nicely done, Phil. ;D

Well done! I hope the people in the UK and mine (USA) aren't fooled again! Bush and Blair are war criminals. You did an excellent job here. Now you can celebrate by busting up your gear!

:-) Thanks

OMR - It might have been a reaction to all those people who responded, when told Ed Miliband had won the leadership election, with "who?"

American Smasher - can't afford to bust up my gear, I'm afraid... I can kind of picture Ed M swinging his mike around and smashing that up, though

Ann - :-)
