Original Song Title:

"What's New Pussycat?"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Tom Jones

Parody Song Title:

"What's New Pussyhat?"

Parody Written by:

Steve Kalafut

The Lyrics

The recent women's march in DC included lots of women wearing pink knit " pussyhats", which naturally reminded me of the original song. Sung by Tom Jones and written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, it was the title song of a movie.
What's new pussyhat? Woah, woah, woh-oh
What's new pussyhat? Woah, woah, woh-oh-oh

Pussyhat, Pussyhat
It's so funny there's lots of money
To spend on you
So go and organize your little pussyhat march
Pussyhat, Pussyhat
I ask you what you'll do
There at your pussyhat march

What's new pussyhat? Woah, woah, woh-oh
What's new pussyhat? Woah, woah, woh-oh-oh

Pussyhat, Pussyhat
You've got signs that depict vaginas
And costumes, too
So go and lift up and carry your pussyhat signs
Pussyhat, Pussyhat
I see you, yes, I do
Lift up your pussyhat signs

What's new pussyhat? Woah, woah, woh-oh
What's new pussyhat? Woah, woah, woh-oh-oh

Pussyhat, Pussyhat
You're so angry like Margaret Sanger
Whom you revere
You've all been venting your unbridled pussyhat rage
Pussyhat, Pussyhat
I hear you, yes, I do
Venting your pussyhat rage (woah-woh-oh)
Carry your pussyhat signs (woah-woh-oh)
There at your pussyhat march
Margaret Sanger was the founder of Planned Parenthood, whose work is generally supported by the march's participants.

This is funny. I wonder if we'll be seeing these at Halloween parties this fall. Like the "angry"/"Sanger" juxtaposition. As I recall, she was against Irish and Italian immigration. Among others. That would be much of my family. Not to mention all the Mexicans who have joined since. The next time the Pussyhats march, maybe they could get their male colleagues to join them, suitably attired. Here's a parody idea: use the old Dr Demento classic "Fish Heads". I'm sure you can figure the rest. Keep all the credit. As onslaught said, "better you than me".

I think using Tom Jones to parody the Woman's march is perfect, because if I'm not mistaken, the song "She's A Lady" is the spark that set off the feminist firestorm. Thanks a lot, Tom!! ....

The hell .. I had a heart attack at age 58 even though I exercised my whole life, never smoked or drank (OK quit drinking 20 years ago) had avg cholesterol and maintained ideal weight .After talking to me, doctors were able to pinpoint the unbounded joy associated with my white privilege as the main cause.
@CML - February 01, 2017 - Report this comment
White privilege probably brought you better medical care. The following study conclusions, although related to women, surely apply to men in some form: In summary, we found that black women with heart disease had 50% higher adjusted risk for myocardial infarction and CHD death compared with white women. We demonstrated less aggressive treatment of blood pressure and LDL cholesterol and the lower use of aspirin and statins among black women.
Max Power - February 01, 2017 - Report this comment
Just curious, how much of this may have something to do with their diet? Diet can be a factor in health as well.
@Max Power - February 01, 2017 - Report this comment
"Risk adjustment" means that a medical outcome reflects a provider’s performance for its specific case relative to the expected performance of an average provider for that same case. In other words, a statistical adjustment is made such that something like a bad diet of a patient does not penalize the performance evaluation of the provider. It's a way of saying "all things being equal..." When the adjustment is made for risk, it's clear that the bad outcome for black women can be pinned on poor treatment.

Your health is nothing if you have hatred in your heart. I'm Black, so you judge me by my skin color intead of character. I wonder how many times in your life you used the N-word or simply thought it. Whites don't have to worry about racial profiling, racism overt or covert, and the fear of being shot by the Po-Po at any time. I was turned down for a house with perfect credit and a high paying job. Been harassed at financing for a car. My white neighbors look at me everytime a crime happens in our neighborhood. Lennie, you live in bliss compared to the avg black man. You have no clue.
CML @CML - February 02, 2017 - Report this comment
Let me tell about the depths of the hatred in my soul for black men. Some years ago, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. So, in reading up about it, I discovered that Vitamin D deficiency plays a big role in this disease. I also read that black men and Hispanic men suffer from more aggressive and deadly prostate cancers. To which I pondered is there a connection here? And what can be done about it?" ... And then it dawned on me like a sunrise over Tokyo Bay. People manufacture Vitamin D naturally in response to sunlight. Darker skin blocks sunlight, which is a good thing if you live close to the equator, but not if you live close to the Canadian border. Dark skinned men living in Northern latitudes have a serious Vitamin D problem which predispses them to more aggressive cancers. Which means they should all be taking Vitamin D supplements .... Obviously, seeing as how I harbor nothing but pustulent hatred in my heart for black men, I'm telling you this so that you will ignore this advice or not tell your dad, and then you all can die of this disease just like my own father did

You know, it just occurred to me. The odds are probably 100-1 that my accuser is actually a put upon black man from the ghetto, seeing as how our beloved art form made famous by Weird Al Yankovich is probably one of the whitest things on the planet -- ranking right up there with seeing a kid named Colten watch "Napoleon Dynamite" while eating a tuna casserole sandwich ... Nah, you're actually that mentally diseased troll that used to bedevil me a couple years ago, aren't you, ya little puke? But hey, I have to admit you got me going there, didn't you ... you steaming, freshly pinched pile of re-processed Alpo.

Methinks this Lennie guy has no friends of color. Maybe a few tokens, but that's it. He probably thinks Roots is a comedy. In my experience white folks that help black folks do it out of white guilt. How I would love to have a true white friend in life. Have never found one. The first time I disagree with any white person and express my own opinions, I'm back to plain old N*gger. Whites are disingenuous.

Third Wave Feminism is based on lies of unequal pay, rape culture, and denial of anyone else's opinions. With the 77¢ crap, not everything is factored in like type of job, actual hours worked, types of pay, time in service, company pay grades, rate of pay raises, etc... On average in America, men and women generally get paid the same for the same work. As for a rape culture, it's bogus. Feminists take a few individual cases and then proclaim a rape culture. But what of men that are raped too? Their lives get ruined too. Do feminists stand up for them? No. And then there is the feminist bullying and attempts at online shaming of anyone who has a different opinion. They talk equality, but they have ulterior motives and a nonsense PC agenda. Basically, meet their demands or else. This is very different from first and second generation feminists who fought to work, to vote, and achieve domestic equality, equal standing, equal justice. I don't care about the pinkhat symbolism either. Pink represents feminity, not bullying, violence, and outright lying about life in America. You want true inequality of the sexes? Go live in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and South America. Women live like queens in America if you want to make a direct comparison.

There are two people who used the same handle, @CML. The first, who wrote about white privilege in connection with unequal health care, was I. (Thereafter, I was @Max Power.) I am so white that I have had multiple skin cancers and solar keratosis. I hope you took my comment under serious, health-giving consideration. It's a fact that some of my best friends are... you know. None of them has the comic genius of "George Jackson."

I am George Jackson and did not post the second comment above. It should be obvious as black folks don't care about Adolf Hitler or Star Wars movies. Straight up white boy prank. These are the games black folks have to put up with white people. I think I've proved my point. No more replies. Good night all.

Sorry to hear about your situation. My oldest brother was a fair skinned blonde who taught PE in Phoenix area schools for 30 years. During the summer, because he was a football coach, he'd work with kids on their football skills outside in the blazing sun. I'm pretty sure you can guess where this is going, he eventually contracted such a serious case of skin cancer he was obliged to spend the rest of his days in a quasi-Morlockean state. Where he had to avoid the Phoenix sun for at least 8 months out of the year. What's really ironic, considering he comes from a family of virulent racists is that 90% of the kids he helped were either black or Hispanic. My horribly bigoted mother, who spent several years teaching black kids in inner schools in Philadelphia in the late Forties, tried to get him to stop, but I guess my brother must have been color blind, or something
