"Tribute to Eddie Albert"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Ed Albert left this world behind
Green Acres star was ninety nine
Good lookin' and had class sublime
He will be missed by many a long long time

In films for fifty years, they say
Great actor, many parts he'd play
No oscars, but twice made the bid
For "Roman Holiday" and "The Heartbreak Kid"

Great smile,
Great style,
Tho' gone
Lives on

in sitcom fun, that is still rerun
And plays on TV Land..

He also had a crime drama called "Switch" where he was an aging cop aided by ex-con Robert Wagner. Very reminiscent of the fact that I knew Buddy Ebsen as "Barnaby Jones," not as Jed Clampett from "The Beverly Hillbillies." But 99? Come on, if a guy makes it to 99, he deserves the last year.

Great tribute, AFW. Rick C, as the trivia-brains go, Michael's is bigger than most. Besides, Google's just a mouse-click away.

Switch was a pretty good show. Typical breezy Robert Wagner vehicle and Eddie Albert was a great foil and very vigorous for a guy then hitting his 70's. I thought Green Acres was too silly with Albert frozen into a never-ending eviscerated exasperation. Switch and Albert's hard ass roles in the 70's - The Longest Yard, McQ with John Wayne were much more interesting.
