The Lyrics

Here begins an attempt at a disco opera about how messed up major college football's postseason system is. The whole endeavour is called "TCU," after the biggest victim of the 2009 Bowl Championship Series mess. The project parodies ABBA's Voulez-Vous album and I hope to use it to successfully protest the boiler-room tactics of BCS officials that they use to defend the status quo. TCU, however, doesn't appear until the second song. The first song reflects on then-Nebraska Cornhuskers DT Ndamukong Suh's feelings in the immediate wake of the Big 12 title game on 5 December 2009 at Arlington's new Cowboys Stadium, which the Huskers lost 13-12 on a last-play field goal by the Texas Longhorns. Nebraska thought they had won 12-10, but the referee--who was perhaps told to rig the game so that the establishment would take both slots in the BCS title game--wrongfully ruled that Colt McCoy's incomplete pass had fallen incomplete with one second left, instead of with no time left on the clock as had been originally ruled.
Ndamukong Suh.
I thought 'twas done, I thought we had won;
But the biased referee denied the final gun.
Then Texas kicked, I knew we'd been licked.
Even in the locker room, it truly makes me sick.
I don't know what the BCS will do,
But my heart goes out to ("to" 15x)
Poor TCU and Cincinnati too.

Edward Genereux.
I feel it too, as sad as Suh.
I wish there were a D-I playoff system.
I feel it too, like TCU.
Bowl committees, they don't know what they are missin'.
I feel it too, as sad as Suh.
To hell with D-I's football subdivisions!
I feel it too, like TCU.
BCS stings more than surgical incisions.

Bo Pelini.
I do agree with Suh, my DT.
Who deserves the blame? I say none but the referee,
By Texas hired. He ought to be fired
By the NCAA; they're getting really tired
Of controversy from the BCS.
It really is a mess ("m" 15x)
Of the worst case--no more happy face.

Edward Genereux.
I feel it, Bo, as titles go.
Five years ago, Mack Brown campaigned 'mong coaches.
To oust poor Cal; the Bears then fell
Unto Texas Tech. I would shoot those cockroaches.
I feel it so, my dearest Bo.
When, four years later, Tech screamed bloody murder.
I really know you want wins so.
This loss, it will make me one big-league pro hurler.

(Audio from ABC's Big 12 title game coverage)

All.
I wish for a 48-team playoff
For all Division I.

Edward Genereux.
I feel it too, just like you two.
I'll lobby ev'ry BCS official;
And if ignored, I won't be bored.
I will bomb their corporate office with cruise missiles.
I feel it too, just like you two.
I wish the NCAA would listen.
My system's sound, in reason ground;
And on Myles Brand's grave I will go a-p*ssin'.

All.
Well, if no-one else I knew, Ed's as sad as Suh.
Let us try to tell them 'bout what they are missin'.
Note that I included myself as an expert on college football and a strong supporter of a playoff system. I would abolish subdivisions in Division I football to make it happen.
