The members of the band Abba must be getting old (They were formed in 1971). Agnetha Faltskog wanted to sing the song "Waterloo", but she forgot the lyrics. She forgot the words, but she was a pro about it. When she started to sing, she sang "Doo-ba-doo, doo-ba-doo-ba doo-ba-doo-ba-doo-ba-doo" Submitted by: Jeff Williams

| "King Kong Song"
The Funny Lyrics: We do the King Kong Song
You gotta sing along Listen to the music and it couldn't go wrong! Why They're Funny: This isn't the sort of song ABBA would flower on, even if it's on the same album as 'Waterloo'. A dolly attempt to sound hard and funky, the whole song is juvenile. But the real fun is that they got sidetracked just at this point. Bjorn Ulvaeus has told the story of a show in Stockholm Concert Hall in '74: "In the middle of 'King Kong Song' there's a kind of percussion break, and then the girls shout Aaaarggh! and the chorus returns. Now, at that point one of the girls got in screaming two beats too early, and half the musicians followed her, and us others went on as it was supposed to be. From then on we couldn't hook up again. The song just ran away and petered out..."

"Fernando"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: There's no regret
If I had to do the same again I would, my friend, fernando Why They're Nonsensical: This lyric always gets me. It make no sense. She's saying that basically she has no regrets and would do it all again... but if she HAD to do the same again then she would have no choice in the matter. If I HAD to do the same again means she if being forced to do it- so saying you would, my friend, is pointless- you're being forced to do it again!! It's not much of a gesture or very profound saying "I'd do it all again if somebody forced me too" Arrghh.

"Happy New Year"
The Dated Lyrics: What lies waiting down the line
In the end of eighty-nine. Why They're Dated: Because Happy New Year was written in the year 1979 for ABBA's Super Trouper album and the lyrics refer to the end of a decade (the end of the 1970's) and then looks ahead to the end of 1989. So it now seems dated to hear that song with those lyrics.

| "Money Money Money"
The Lyrics: Money, money, money
Must be funny In the rich man's world Why: Two errors here. Firstly, "funny" can mean either amusing or peculiar, but never "fun", which is clearly the intended meaning here. Secondly, "the rich man's world" is a clumsy and pretentious construct compared with "a rich man's world". Not strictly wrong, but odd. Funny, if you like...

One look and you're hypnotized He'll take your heart and you must pay the price Look into his angel eyes You'll think you're in paradise And one day you'll find out he wears a disguise Don't look too deep into those angel eyes Oh no no no no Why: It's about finding out that a good-looking person is not what he may seem like at first.
