The Lyrics

Eyed it right but the green was slow.
Hooking shots that's the way it goes.
Brand new pair of golf shoes squeak, setting in to swing.
I hit the ball with a sting.
Anybody could play that lie.
Swing like dung and I stick it high.
Then it hits a rock drastic on hole number nine.
It takes a crude wicked glance.
It was one lucky chance...

It's dancing on the green, tongue in cheek, lying seventeen,
On the green, bounced so sweet like a trampoline. (Oh yeah)
Threw my stance, blew the drive, trying so much not to slice, (ooooh)
See it twirl, botch that swing, diggin' this chancy scene.

Such a pleaser, it turns me on.
Shot went soaring it felt so wrong,
Hoping for another, any shot I screw;
No victim of circumstance.
It was that lucky glance...

It's dancing on the green, tongue in cheek, lying seventeen,
On the green, bounced so sweet like a trampoline.
Threw my stance, blew the drive, trying so much not to slice,
See it twirl, botch that swing, diggin' this chancy scene.

Nice internal rythming...all around weaving of words.

Good job - as a golfer I was there with you! I particularly liked "Swing like dung and I stick it high"

Thanks Per. I grew up on the golf course. Everyone in my family played. I used to caddy at a country club and play on a public course that was very close to my house. This is only my 2nd one on the subject. May do some more.

What can I say? Another hole-in-one for Captain Guy! 5's

Pacing limps a bit, but the rhyming is great and the topic is reasonably funny--after growing up with a golfaholic dad I can certainly imagine him thinking those lyrics!

Guy, you are certainly well known for good pacing, according to what I've seen and what everyone says.
