"4-0-4"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

My first attempt at a parody of my own, after years of commenting on other tunes...why not start with the group I know best?
[SFX: modem dial-in sounds, followed by instrumental prelude]

Where are my fav'rite sites? They seem so hard to find
I try to click the links, until I lose my mind
Whatever happened to the Net?
I wish I understood
It used to be so nice, it used to be so good

CHORUS:

When I'm connected, each attempt's rejected
4-0-4
That site was here, how could it disappear?
It's 4-0-4
When it's gone
Why should I even try to log on?
Pages gone,
links all dead, so I dread logging on

Surfed over yesterday, to pics I'd loved for years
Met by an error screen, left my machine in tears
My friends all tell me "Get a life"
I wish they understood
What happened to the Net? It used to be so good

CHORUS

[instrumental interlude]

Though I'm connected, each attempt's rejected
4-0-4
Swear that site was here, how could it disappear?
It's 4-0-4
When it's gone
Why should I even try to log on?
Pages gone,
links all dead, so I dread logging on

[SFX: instrumental finale, followed by the click of a phone hanging up]

Ingeborg! glad you're writing parodies; and this one I like--hope you'll keep commenting on other parodies, as well. Are you from Sweden?

This parody is very good.

I live in the States, but have been to Sweden quite often--and speak the language well enough to follow the all-Swedish parodies on this site (in fact, I was pleasantly surprised to see those). Hopefully, inspirations for new parodies will keep coming to me; thank you so much for the comments and votes!

Hmm... so you´re the mysterious second voter on all my Swedish parodies? Johnny D was the other but I´ve been kinda curious about noone else even hinting about it.

Of course, know 1...Swedish tunes are just as good parody sources as English ones, if you can understand the words. :-) *high-5*

Well, now that you´ve confirmed it. Thanx and tusen tack. :-)

Ah... a chance to repay the favour of a heap of comments - I love the techie parodies (having done quite a few myself), and the only thing I dislike about this one is that I didn't think of it myself ;-)
