Parody Song Title:

"Hiding In The City of New Orleans"

Parody Written by:

The JIM HOY Band

The Lyrics

Hiding in the City of New Orleans,
Hear the sirens, Monday morning wail
Category Five scares the snakes and spiders,
Coming down hard with rain wind and hail.
All along the south Gulf coastline
The people run & from Katrina flee
Rollin along past houses, farms and fields.
Passin' trains that have no names,
Freight yards full of old black men
And the graveyards of the rusted automobiles.

CHORUS:
Good morning America how are you?
Don't you know me I'm a pool in the sun,
I'm the lake they call The City of New Orleans,
I'll be deep five hundred feet when the day is done.

Pacing limps badly, only one verse and too many unaltered rows. 2-3-2. Clearly some effort, but you could have done better.

The original is the best train song ever made. IMO if someone attempts to parodize this song, it really deserves the best s/he can give.
