Parody Song Title:

"Always Evasion to Me"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

A generic polemic about the politicians we love to hate
Well, they kill with a smile, there's deceit in their eyes.
And they ruin the world with their casual lies.
And they only reveal what they want you to see.
And sincere as they sound, well it sounds like evasion to me

They will lead you to war and say take it or leave it
What they say is the truth you could never believe it
Take your liberty and then they tell you you're free
Yeah, they lie through their teeth and it looks like evasion to me

Oooh, they take care of themselves
Watching their back, they will not do the time
Oooooh, and the shit they give out, and they never give in,
Won't admit to the crime

And they'll promise you more than the Garden of Eden.
If it leaves them in power at the next election
But when something goes wrong, it ain't their fault, you see
Blaming somebody else, 'cause it's always evasion to me

Hmmmmmm Mmmmmm Hmmmmm Mmmmmm

Oooh, only think of themselves
They will do what they want, they don't get out of line
Oooooh, and if they don't like it, don't ask them to do it
They'll only decline

Though they say they are kind, they are frequently cruel
But WE vote them im, so the fault is ours, too
And they can be evicted, can we make them see
That though they say they do what we have asked them to
But it's always evasion to me

Hmmmmmm Mmmmmm Hmmmmm Mmmmmm

Like the broad-brush approach. They're all scum. . .just a matter of degree.

Philbo, you speak truth......and that disqualifies you from running for office yourself......oops, I just had a cynical moment, please excuse me.....555 for this excellent parody.

No, JD - speaking truth doesn't disqualify you from running, but it makes it pretty much certain you won't get elected. Then we (the electorate) get pissed off that politicians don't deliver on the impossible promises that if they hadn't made, would have meant we didn't vote for them. In a democracy you can't blame the politicians for being the low down machiavellian devious lying two-faced swine that we all know and hate: it's the electorate who have the responsibility.

Wasn't it Dennis Miller who said we like our politicians best when they KNOW they're full of sh*t? :-)

I liked this parody. A true gem. Not suprising that it hasn't had too many votes. No funding from Bush yet?????? I write parodies my self too. I sometimes do the odd political one. I'm from England so there is plenty of scope for more. Keep up the good work.

I didn't quite get the "they DON'T get out of line" line. Typo? Anyway, well done. 5-5-5

Gez - I'm from the UK, too: this ain't just about US politicians..
Leo - I was trying to work out how to say "they draw their own line, so don't go over it", but ran out of syllables.

A quick postscript: I always try and credit my inspirations.. this one came from Don Carlos on the messageboard with the sentence "Sounds like an evasion to me" talking about whether Saddam would be returned to the Iraqis for trial... the rhythm and the sentiment are both included in this parody.
