The Lyrics

Based on when I went to the supermarket while I was at my second apartment. They had a grand total of three songs I think, and this was one of them. I like the song, but got sick of it then.
I always heard, every time I went in there
It's that damn song, no one seems to be aware
Just three songs they are sure to always play
Ensure you don't overstay
You shop quick and drive away
I always said, I never get sick of that song
That was until they played it nonstop way too long
A lot more songs, the only thing they wouldn't do
Yeah, they bought three then they were through
And so it annoys me and you

And it's still that song
I think that more songs can belong
Playlist isn't strong
Ears are pounding, it's so wrong
Looking at the corn
Short enough so I can leave
It's still that song
Need some relief

There I stood
Looking at the pizza tray
I got one and walked away
And I think I might complain

'Cause it's still that song
It's still that song
Playlist isn't strong
Rather hear a gong
It's still that song

Good Seger song, but it sure was overplayed, back in the day...

Thanks Mark. This was only 6 years ago when I heard it a lot in the supermarket. They just didn't have much selection

I love it! (I actually have that same kind of luck with the car radio-- particularly around Christmastime.) ;)

Actually, I think the mesmerizing elevator-type music is to lull you into staying longer and buying more without thinking, under their hypnotic trance ;-) ... Good shot at the limited playlist, but I'm afraid I have only the same three votes: 5, 5, and 5. Sorry to bore you ;)

Thanks Fiddlegirl and TT TT it was the actual song

Good one Phil, and it doesn't help that Seger likes to repeat his chorus about 555 times before fading his songs out. (Been meaning to make this OS into a blackjack parody, thanks for the memory jog.)
