Song Parodies -> "Alzheimer Rock And Roll"

Original Song Title:

"Old Time Rock And Roll"

Original Performer:

Bob Seger

Parody Song Title:

"Alzheimer Rock And Roll"

Parody Written by:

Claude Prez

The Lyrics

Just get those old geezers off the stage
Go get a fishin' pole and act your age
Think they forgot to take their Geritol
Sounds like some Alzheimer rock and roll

The lead guitarist can't recall the chords
Or what his name is or what he's here for
The drummer up and wandered out the door
They're playin' Alzheimer rock and roll

Sounds like that Alzheimer rock and roll
They smellin' funny and they movin' slow
They reminisce about their bladder control
That messy Alzheimer rock and roll

They should be somewhere playin' bingo
And every groupie is a lumpy old ho
And when they flash their goodies hit the flo
Don't like that Alzheimer rock and roll

Call them arthritic call 'em what you will
It's them and "Matlock" in a double bill
Your great grandson directs your video
Just might be Alzheimer rock and roll

Still playin' Alzheimer rock and roll
They smellin' funny and they movin' slow
They reminisce about their bowel control
With that Alzheimer rock and roll

Not done with Alzheimer rock and roll
They takin' more drugs than the Rollin' Stones
And up on stage smells like a toilet bowl
That cranky Alzheimer rock and roll

Hey, this must have been inspired by Keith Richard sporting what was left of his chest on the cover of Rolling Stone... ;-)

Great job as always, Claude. Except I thought this song was ABOUT the Rolling Stones? lol-- d;:^)

Thanks for comments everyone...and obviously, I couldn't help but think about the Stones, right? That RS cover was frightening...

This is the funniest song (that I've read) that you've done. The title is creative, and hilarious! Great job. Straight 5s.

Claude, this is a little late, but I thought your "Alzheimer Rock and Roll" was terrific.

C4P: This one predates me, but my life is fuller now that I've found it. I should have known it was you that originated the old-farts-on-stage genre (along with the kill-and-eat-pets genre). "Lumpy old ho" is classic.

Thanks Spaff. But I doubt I can claim credit for either (Check out "Fry Up A Beagle" by Syncronos, for example--I'm sure there's plenty more too)

I also like to match key words (relic - arthritic). Excellent.

Well I'm becoming a fan. I find it hard to parody songs I hate, so I love it when someone mocks it and makes it more palatable.

Hilarious and well done. This was written before I started writing on amiright. Glad you put this one up on the ABC contest, I may have never seen it otherwise.

Many LOLs on this hilarious piece. Your stuff is fall down funny, Claude, even after a number of readings! Speaking of numbers, they're 5s, of course, straight thru.

Very nice! Capitol Steps wrote a similar parody about Bob Dole's aging fans... but this one's better ;-).

I'm sure this is the first time I've ever seen this one and it's CLASSIC. "Hit the flo" - heh heh. So many great lines.

Oh, wait a minute. I commented on this in 2003? And again in 2004? Huh? Who's Claude Prez? Where am I?

Just looking through parodies of this song to see if my idea had already been used... wow, this is freaking awesome. I guess that "TMGLTM" didn't exist back in 2003, otherwise it would be here. What was my idea again?
