The Lyrics

My dad makes a killer sausage gravy. I have no idea where he got the recipe, but the recipe calls for sage sausage. Well, this song is about trying to add your own sage when all you have is regular sausage.
I am in the quiet kitchen,
Looking through the fridge.
Wanted to make sausage gravy,
But I had no sage sausage.
Well, I'm glad I have the plain stuff,
And I have jars of spices galore.
So I opened up the cabinet,
The way I always do,
When I need to add some spices
To a gumbo, soup or stew.
But right now it's sausage gravy,
Made special for me and you.
Mmmmm!
See, here I am,
Time to cook again.
It is in,
A thin stage.
Here I go
With the corn starch.
Here I go,
Add the sage.
Well, I'll give my friends the recipe,
Via Facebook notes,
And I look at all the comments,
I get all positive votes.
I think I'm becoming popular,
And my views are gonna soar.
Most fans thought I made it up,
This meaty recipe.
But each time, I say it's common in my family.
And they always, always share them,
With all of their friends.
Here I am,
Time to cook again.
It is in,
A thin stage.
Here I go
With the corn starch.
Here I go,
Add the sage.
It gets sent to cooks who live
A thousand miles away.
Every time it's forwarded,
More folks have stuff to say
All about this sausage gravy,
made in a quite special way.
Later in the evening,
I see comments on my site,
That came from New Guinea and Japan some time right before night.
Now it is time to think of some
New recipes to write.
Ah, here I am,
Time to cook again.
It is in,
A thin stage.
Here I go
With the corn starch.
Here I go,
Here I go.

You've cooked up a good one.

Thanks for the comment! I've cooked up some "Cream of What?" too, but there's no place for that on Amiright. It's a comedy skit, not a song. So, visit my website. The link's at the bottom of every parody I've written.
