The Lyrics
(ROOSKIE finishes singing and turns to indicate the olio traveler curtain, which rises to reveal THE CAPO, and POL TURD arm in arm, flanked by the CHOIR some of which are decked out in brown shirts or white sheets.)
POL TURD: In these COVID-19 days, I have no problem with close contact between people—especially this guy! (indicates CAPO) I love him!! We’re so tremendously toxic that no virus could survive in us, anyway. And that includes all these fine, wonderful, incredible, tremendous people behind me. As The Capo’s main agent in the US, I first disbanded the pandemic-fighting team that could have helped us get a jump on the crisis. Then I started lying—and continue to lie—about the virus’s severity. With the help of my tremendous stooges, toadies, and morinions, I continue to encourage people to engage in risky behavior, in the hope of millions getting sick and overwhelming our woefully unprepared healthcare system. I’m doing everything I can can to spread the virus. And I’m doing a beautiful job! It’s all part of The Capo’s perfect plan.
(Turning to address the CHOIR.)
POL TURD: Now, all of you beautiful, incredible people, take a bow!
(The CHOIR hesitates, briefly.)
CAPO: That’s an order!!
CHOIR (in unison as they all bow): Da!
POL TURD (obsequiously): Thank you, master. And with your permission, we’d like to sing for you.
CAPO (menacingly): Granted.
(POL TURD kisses CAPO’s ring and then sings)
“Tomorrow Belongs to Us”
(Parody of “Tomorrow Belongs to Me”)
It’s done, the election, we took it by Storm;
with Russian help, it was no fuss,
as back in 2016, true to form.
Tomorrow belongs to us.
You’re gonna see things like you never have seen…
old country thrown under the bus.
On democracy we aren’t at all keen—
tomorrow belongs to us.
(The CHOIR joins him in the third verse)
Since 2016 many drones closed their eyes
to wounds that were filling with pus.
They’ve burst and released in form of us guys.
Tomorrow belongs—
democracy’s gone—
tomorrow belongs to us!
(The group freezes and the main curtain falls. Displayed on it is a new American flag, featuring a “swasticle” [orange image combining the swastica and hammer and sickle] replacing stars in the blue field. In the background, hundreds of ambulance sirens are heard. wailing)
